THE BIBLE AND HOLY WATER
Presented by: Nightengale Ben-Onyeukwu
Devotional Text: Nunbers 5:11-28
INTRODUCTION:
 Holy Water”, which is also referred to as the “Bitter Water of Jealousy” is only used in the Bible for detective purposes, and never as instrument of blessing or protection, which is the order in some religious quarters of this era of the Christian faith. According to the scriptural text of this lesson, the “sacred Water” was used when a man had some reason to suspect his wife to have committed adultery, {vs. 12-14}. In the words of Matthew Henry, ‘the sin of adultery is justly represented as an exceedingly great sin, as it is going aside from GOD and virtue, and the good way, {Prov. 2:17}. It is committing a trespass against the husband, robbing him of his honour, as well as alienating his right, and introducing a spurious {false} breed into his family, to share his estate with his children, and violating her covenant with him. In the same order, John Wycliffe observes that, biblical laws express condemnation of adultery, in contrast to the lax attitude of Israel’s neighbours and their immoral practices, and so, when a wife was suspected by her husband of adultery, and she maintained her innocence, she was to be brought to the priest and made to stand before the LORD, who alone could determine her innocence or guilt. The priest was to make her take an oath of innocence and to subject her to an ordeal the drinking of bitter curse-bringing water made with dust from the floor of the Tabernacle, which would determine her guilt by certain effects manifested in her body. But, if there were no telltale effects, she was innocent, and was returned to her husband to bear children. And so, with the foregoing in mind, this lesson brings to the fore that, apart from the cited use of “Holy Water” in the Old Testament, there was no other application of it in that era, as the New Testament has no mention of it, but talks of “Living Water” {John 7:38}, indicating that, the use of “Holy Water” in today’s Christianity is not only biblically wrong but dispensationally out of place.
GENERAL REMARKS
(1)       Holy water is mentioned only once in the Old Testament Scripture, and shows it was for detective purpose
 {Num. 5:11-28}, while the prophets in the same era talked of “Living Water”, which refers to the LORD, {Jer. 2:13; 17:13}
(2)       Those who forsake the LORD will be put to shame, because they have forsaken the LIVING WATER, {Jer. 17:13}
(3)       Living Water in the Old Testament carries the idea of the outpouring of the HOLY SPIRIT {Zec.14:8}
 which JESUS confirms in the New Testament, {John 7:38}
(4)       Both the Old Testament {Jer. 2:13; 17:13} and the New Testament Scriptures  {John 4:10-11; 7:38} have  prominent place
 for Living Water, but have no place for the domestic use of “Holy Water,” {Num. 5:12-28}
HOLY WATER AND ITS APPLICATION IN THE OLD TESTAMENT SCRIPTURE
The use of “Holy Water” is only found one place in the entire Scripture, and this is in the Old Testament {Num. 5:11-28}, as it is, equally, only applied for the purpose of finding out, if a woman accused of adultery was guilty or innocent, {vs. 11-28}. During the period in retrospect, a man who suspected his wife of adultery would take her to the priest, with an “offering of jealousy” as required in the law {vs. 15}. Once the requirement was satisfied, the priest dispensed the oath on the woman before the LORD, and if she had done nothing wrong, she walked away free, but if she went astray, the effect became devastating {vs. 16-28}. There was no other use of “Holy Water” in the Old Testament Scripture, apart from the detection of hidden adultery, as people enquired directly from the LORD for the detection of other sins, which individuals, like Achan, intended to cover-up, {Joshua 7}. Based on the foregoing, therefore, this lesson asserts that:
i)                     Holy Water is exclusively an Old Testament matter, {Num. 5:11-28}
ii)                    It is pointedly for the detection of suspected adultery, {vs. 11-28}
iii)                  There is no place in the New Testament, where the use of Holy Water is cited,
Instead, JESUS CHRIST our LORD and BLESSED SAVIOUR talked of the need for Living Water, {John 7:38}
HOLY WATER AND LIVING WATER IN OLD AND NEW TESTAMENT SCRIPTURES
While, it is true that the use of  Holy water was in place, in the Old Testament, for the detection of adulterous behaviour {Num. 5:11-28}, it is also true that the Old Testament Prophets did not mix-up the  practice with the concept of Living Water,” {Jer. 2:13}. To them, the LORD, our GREAT GOD and SAVIOUR remains the LIVING SPRING that gives life, as the Holy Water was but, an instrument for the check of indecent behaviour. And so, the use of Holy Water, in whatever guise, in today’s church, which has no complementary text in the New Testament Scripture, must have come from the pit of hell, as a means by agents of darkness to subvert the truth of the Gospel of JESUS CHRIST our BLESSED LORD and SAVIOUR. In further, notice, also that in the Old Testament the Holy Water was not consecrated and handed-out to people for domestic uses, but was located in the temple and used for its purpose, when required {Num. 5:11-28}. And, point blank, there was no transference of the practice to the New Testament Apostolic Believers, as the LORD JESUS CHRIST only cited the need for Living Water, {John 4:10-11} and never quoted the Old Testament Scripture for the use of Holy Water {Num. 5:11-28}, to support His Message. To this end, this lesson, also, asserts that:
(i)                    Since Holy Water was not consecrated for domestic uses in the Old Testament {Num. 5:11-28}
it becomes smacks of falsehood on the path of  those who try to do so, in today’s church.
(ii)                  Since Holy water was just for the detection of suspected adultery, as seen ionly in the Old Testament Scripture, {Num. 5:11-28}, it becomes obvious that those who dispense it, in whatever guise, in the present day Christianity are not true in their interpretation and application of GOD’S WORD, and;
(iii)                 Since the Old Testament prophets and priests did not mix-up the use of Holy Water {Num. 5:11-28} with the concept of Living Water {Jer. 7:13}, and, since the New Testament  Scripture has no record of the use of it, it becomes a point to shun the use of Holy Water, in whatever fashion, in Christendom today.
In conclusion, let it be re-called that, the use of “Holy Water” is mentioned only once in the entire Scripture, and that, it is for the detection of suspected sin of adultery {Num. 5:11-28}. And that, both the Old Testament prophets and JESUS CHRIST our LORD and BLESSED SAVIOUR agree that the Living Water should be the focus of all those who desire to drink from the fountain of life; and in agreement say,... “The LORD is the hope of Israel, and all who forsake HIM shall be ashamed... because they have forsaken the LORD, the FOUNTAIN of Living Water,” {Jer. 17:13}. And, “on the last day, that great day of the feast, JESUS stood and cried out, saying, “If anyone thirsts, let him come to ME and drink. He who believes in ME, as the Scripture has said, out of his heart will flow rivers of Living Water,” {john 7:37-38}. DON’T BE DECEIVED!

PAPER PRESENTATION ON THE EXEGESIS OF FIRST JOHN CHAPTER FOUR VERSES ONE TO SIX, AT A MONTHLY MEETING OF THE ASSOCIATION OF CHRISTIAN THEOLOGICAL PROFESSORS, ON MARCH 22, 2020, AT CITY CHEF, OWERRI, IMO STATE, NIGERIA

THE PREAMBLE:
                    Men and Brethren,
It is common knowledge that, “high wind is the preamble to a winter storm”, and so, the formation of the Association of Christian Theological Professors is, the unfolding of a sound doctrinal body that would beam the kingdom light across the spiritual and structural spectrum of the Christian faith, in Nigeria, and the world over, notwithstanding, the extent of the doctrinal damage done by false prophets and teachers in the Church of our BLESSED LORD and SAVIOUR, JESUS CHRIST.
          Let me, at this time, salute the courage and wisdom of Professor Uzoma Emmanuel, the convener of this great assemblage of these high level apologists, for the task of dismantling the grips of false doctrines in our present day church and society. I am, also, deeply humbled and grateful for your choice of me, for today’s paper presentation, which is on the Exegesis of 1 John 4:1-6. My drive here is not to do a perfect work, but to do my best, and leave room for improvement by other scholars. Having said this, I, therefore, deem it proper to begin from:
A HISTORICAL BACKGROUND OF THE FIRST
 EPISTLE OF JOHN
          The first epistle of John was written by one of the foremost disciples of JESUS CHRIST, named John. He was probably one of the inner-circle disciples who, alongside with Peter and James had a special relationship with JESUS, and wrote his letter between AD 85 and 90, from Ephesus, before his exile to Island of Patimos, as cited in Revelation 1:9.
          The period under review shows that Jerusalem had been destroyed in AD 70, and Christians were scattered throughout the empire, and by the time John wrote his letter, Christianity had been in existence for more than a generation, in which it faced and survived severe persecutions. The main problem that confronted the church at this time was declining commitment, as many believers were conforming to the standards of the world, and consequently could not keep the principles of the real faith of CHRIST. The period, also, records that false teachers were on the increase, luring Christians out of the true faith, and so, John wrote his letter to put the believers back to the path of truth, and to show the difference between truth and falsehood, as well as encourage them to grow in genuine love for GOD and for one another.
          Ladies and gentlemen, it is obvious that the same situation and experience are posing dangerous threats to the Christian faith of today, thus, the need to face these anti-Christian monsters with stern seriousness and commitment.
DEFINITION OF TERMS
          The term “exegesis appears to be the prominent word that calls for definition in the topic under review, which, like many other terms has defiled the principle of lone definition. In this connection, David Horton shows that, exegesis is the process of drawing out of a text its intended meaning. From the Greek word “exegeomai”, the word is used to describe the disclosure or description of a document, statement or incident. In contrast, “eisegesis” is the term, which means, “to read into” or “to bring strange meaning” into a text or document. The foregoing, therefore, indicates that, there are both true and false interpretations of GOD’S WORD.
          In the words of Ronald Cooke, “the interpretation of the Scripture depends on several different factors, which include; words, grammar, context, scope of the passage and type of literature”, among others. He stresses further that, “it is impossible to come close to the proper interpretation of any text or passage without taking these factors into consideration”. In line with this, Horton further observes that, exegesis employs three approaches to a text:
          {1} understanding the grammar of the text;
{2} understanding individual word(s) in a sentence, and;
{3} understanding the message as a whole in the context of a paragraph, chapter, individual book, and the entire text of scripture.
PROBLEM OF FALSE INTERPRETATION
AND APPLICATION OF GOD’S WORD
          In interpreting a text of scripture, two basic steps are paramount.  The interpreter who wishes to interpret GOD’S WORD correctly must ask:
{1} what did the passage mean for the person who first spoke or wrote the words, and for the people who first heard
 or read them?
{2} what should the passage mean to a reader today?
The first task is to enter into the circumstances of the person who first wrote or heard or read the passage and then try to understand the meaning in the light of the whole Bible. The second is to try to make the meaning of the passage clear in the circumstances of the present century. For instance, the Scripture on “oil of gladness” was first presented to a Jewish audience in Psalm 45:7, and was rehearsed in Hebrews 1:9, and points to JESUS CHRIST our LORD and BLESSED SAVIOUR. These Scriptures can also be applied to the present day believer, in whose life CHRIST dwells, and has nothing to do with the concoction of “bottled oil” which is an adulteration of “oil of gladness”, manufactured and sold today in some religious quarters. And so, where the cited hermeneutical rule and example are genuinely applied, false interpretation and application of GOD’S WORD can hardly thrive. But, note also, that application of GOD’S WORD is a multi-faceted thing, whereas, interpretation is but one. This means that, if interpretation of scripture is properly done, it is the same thing, anywhere, anytime, as application will always vary, depending on the peculiarity of the need, circumstances and environment of a target audience. Thus, the hermeneutical rule to this effect remains, one interpretation, many applications.
EXEGESIS OF THE FIRST EPISTLE OF JOHN CHAPTER
FOUR VERSES ONE TO SIX {1JOHN 4:1-6}
So far, I hope we have been able to discover together, some of the points that make for proper exegesis of GOD’S WORD, and possibly, have also acquired a fair understanding of how to improve on the arts of biblical interpretation and application, However, our journey may not be truly satisfactory if a verse to verse analysis of the passage we seek to explore is not done. With this in mind, I, therefore, suggest we take a look at;
{1} Exegesis of first John Four verse One:
          The first verse of the passage of the chapter four of John’s letter carries an inquiry into the type of spirits that operate in church and society, thus, the expression,…”do not believe every spirit, but rather test them, to see whether they are of GOD”…{vs 1A}.
          Now, notice that the test is a “spirit-test”, and not a “human-test”, and it takes only the SPIRIT of GOD to detect the spirit of error. Therefore, the cross-examination here is by means of the HOLY SPIRIT and not by human psychology or any other method of human fact-finding, and implies that no one can detect the spirit of error, who is not filled with the HOLY SPIRIT. And so, teachers of GOD’S WORD should, as a matter of necessity, ensure that those they teach are filled with the SPIRIT, {Eph. 5:18}.
          In furtherance, the second part of the verse, also, insinuates the need for the awareness and consciousness of the fact of the presence of false prophets in society, as it equally  says….”because many false prophets have gone into the world”{vs1B}.
          It is important to note here that, without being aware and conscious of the fact that the false prophets are around the corner, our sense of watchman-ship will definitely diminish, and where we become aware of their presence, but fail to check their ungodly activities, it becomes indicative that, we, too, have become submerged into their falsehood. And, under such a depraved condition, we make ourselves a disappointment to GOD and His church. Having said this, let it be known that;
          {1} false prophets are known for false teaching,[1Peter 2:1}, and this, we must confront by strong voices of sound doctrines and refutation, {Acts 13;6-12};
          {2} false prophets are equally wonder workers, {Matt. 24:24; Acts 13:6}. This, also, we must disprove, by dedicating our lives to GOD, for His infallible signs of the Kingdom,{Mark16:17-18}.
Once again, remember that the main idea in John’s expression, “do not believe every spirit”…is on the person moved by a spirit, whether by the HOLY SPIRIT or by the evil one. A true prophet speaks from GOD, being carried along by the HOLY SPIRIT,{2Peter 1:21}. But, false prophets, such as the Gnostics of John’s time, speak under the influence of spirits alienated from GOD. So, we have a duty to find out, who is who, in church and society.
{2} Exegesis of first John Four verses Two and Three:
The crux of the matter in the verses under review is to find out if a given prophet truly believes that JESUS CHRIST is fully GOD and fully MAN, and hinges on the expression,….”every spirit that confesses that JESUS CHRIST has come in the flesh is of GOD, and every spirit that does not confess….,is not of GOD,{vs2-3}.
Notice, particularly that, it is the confession of a spirit, and not that of the human vessel used, stressing on the power or forces behind the teacher or prophet who speaks, and that such a confession must proclaim, the coming or otherwise of JESUS CHRIST in the flesh,{vs2-3}.
Therefore, if the true prophet or teacher agrees to the reality of the incarnation of JESUS CHRIST, his confession must historically catalogue a hearty story {not head knowledge} of;
---His human descent, traceable to the house of David;
---His Immaculate Conception and virgin birth;
---The herald of His birth by angels;
---The Good news of the shepherds, confirming His birth;
---The visit of the Magi;
---The narrative of His Childhood story;
---His encounter with some learned folks of His time, at twelve;
---His eighteen years of silence;
---His temptation;
---His ministry;
---His crucifixion;
---His resurrection and ascension, which no false prophet can truly acknowledge or attest to.
Also, the confession of the true prophet, in relation to the coming of CHRIST in the flesh must equally be experiential, indicating the presence of the SPIRIT of the risen CHRIST in his person. For, “if anyone does not possess the SPIRIT of CHRIST, he is none of His”,{Rom.8:9}. In this order, the Apostle Paul confesses, and, I quote, “I have been crucified with CHRIST, it is no longer I that live, but CHRIST who lives in me, and the life which I now live in the flesh, I live by faith in the SON of GOD, who loves me and gave HIS LIFE for me” unquote, {Gal. 2:20NKJV}. And, without mincing words, the absence of the cited experience in the life of one who claims one is a prophet of GOD, becomes an evidence that the spirit of anti-Christ is in place,{1John 4:1}.
In all, the bone of contention in the verses two and three of John’s epistle is that, “as Christianity spread across the Mediterranean, it came in contact with other religions. Greeks and Romans tried to absorb the faith into their own philosophies, just as some Jews had initially done. Intellectual centers of the Mediterranean raised questions on the deity of JESUS, stressing that if He was really GOD, He couldn’t have died. This, a popular new cult of that time called Gnosticism, a name derived from Greek word for knowledge gained ground in an attempt to explain these things. This cult, as usual, thrived among the intellectual elite.
Gnostics balked at the Christian concept of GOD becoming human, since they believed a physical body was intrinsically evil, and denied that a pure GOD could take on a body. Some dealt with the problem by claiming that JESUS was never a real human being, but a phantom, a temporary appearance of GOD who looked human. Others proposed that GOD had descended on JESUS at his baptism, but left him before His death.
Fellow citizens of the Kingdom of Heaven, I hope, it is now becoming very obvious, as to what informed the writing of John’s letter which we x-ray today. I have no doubt in my mind that the Apostle John debated in person with the Gnostics of his time, and had their doctrine in mind when he wrote his epistle. The very first sentence expressly states that the author had seen, heard, and touched JESUS---implying he could not have been a phantom or pure spirit. Throughout the letter, especially in 4:2-3, the author lambastes those who deny that JESUS came in the flesh. And, no doubt, the same is our calling and duty, in this generation.
{3} Exegesis of First John four verses Four to Six
Let it be noted at this point that, the scriptural expressions, “You are of GOD”… {vs 4}, “They are of the world”…{vs 5}, and “We are of GOD”…{vs 6} will form the main stay of the exegesis of the verses of the scripture in focus. In them, the Apostle John demonstrates insight into the spiritual status of members of his congregation, as he shows his knowledge of those who were saved, and those who were yet of the world. To explain further, those who are of the world are those who are not saved from sin and powers of darkness, but constitute part of the community of the evil system and corruption of the demonic kingdom, which they manifest on earth. So, the inability of a Church Leader in today’s Christianity to know who is who in the Body of CHRIST is dangerous, as it creates room for the ever-increasing level of corruption in Christendom, since the unsuspecting converts are readily deceived by those who are stirred and influenced by the spirit of anti-Christ.
To this end, the present day Christian Leader must ensure that his messages are geared towards regeneration and sound Christian living, as a way of checkmating false doctrines and the over-bearing influences of false teachers and prophets. And, if the Church must regain its lost glory, GOD’S messengers of this day must be wary of empty motivational messages which readily appeal to the pride and ego of the people, as such messages only stir them into the path of ungodly earthly values, instead of creating in them a sense of righteousness and holiness.
Finally, the Apostle John’s knowledge of being part of the Christian project, which informed his expression...”we are of GOD”,{vs 6}, is indeed, heart-warming, and shows that the teacher of GOD’S WORD must be part of the experience he seeks to share, as no one is qualified to be a messenger of GOD, without the born again experience, which is what it means to be born of GOD,{1John 2:21;3:9-10}. By this, therefore, I state without apologies that, it is not late to quit the ministry, if the cited experience is not the spiritual status of any member of this association.
          SUGGESTIONS
Here, I wish to submit that the Association of Christian Theological Professors is a DIVINE project designed to tackle the menace of false teachers and prophets in today’s society, and hope, it will not fail or disappoint GOD. Also, I do not at this time; wish to refer to members of this association as erudite, until the set objectives become realistic. For, we cannot afford to engage in self-glory while the House of GOD wallows in the shame of evil forces. Having said this, let me, as a measure against the challenges ahead, suggest that:
{1} we constitute ourselves into a formidable prayer front, as a way of ascertaining the presence and leadership of the HOLT SPIRIT for the tasks ahead;
{2} a committee be set up, as a fact-finding team for the discovery of the areas the doctrines of the church have been mutilated, and in turn suggest possible line of actions;
{3} a high profile team of researchers be mobilized to ascertain the immediate and remote causes of the mutilation of Christian doctrines, as well as show ways future occurrences could be checked;
{4} a forum for the harmonization of differences in doctrines among members be put in place, to enable the group speak with one voice, since, this is vital before any form of outreach, coupled with the fact that we need a constitution that would guide the general mode of operation of this group. The time to act is now.
In conclusion, let me, once again, salute these great men and women of GOD , who, by His special grace have responded to this kingdom summon of JESUS CHRIST, the KING of kings and LORD of lords, and the UPHOLDER of all things in heaven and earth. I have no doubt in my mind that, with HIM on our side, we will succeed. Thank you, and remain blessed!

THE BIBLE AND HEALING MINISTRY {Part 6}
GOD as the AUTHOR of Medicine
Instructor: Rev. Prof. Ben Onyeukwu
Presented by: Nightangale Ben-Onyeukwu
                                                          Devotional Text: Ezek. 47:7-12

INTRODUCTION:
            The Scripture which narrates that, “Fruit tress of all kinds will grow on both banks of the river. Their leaves will not wither, nor will their fruit fail. Every month they will bear, because the water from the sanctuary flows to them. Their fruit will serve for food and their leaves for healing {Ezek. 47:12} is a pointer that GOD is the AUTHOR of medicine, and stands out to show that medical treatment, cum healing is not an idea from man, but a blessing from the LORD GOD of heaven and earth, who is the ULTIMATE HEALER
GENERAL REMARKS
(1)       The medical vegetation which the scriptural text of this lesson portrays shows
 that medical healing is of OGD, {Ezek. 47:7-12}
(2)       The use of medical herbs, by medical doctors, is a confirmation of the truth that medical
 healing is indirect healing from the LORD GOD ALMIGHTY, {vs. 12}
(3)       Medical healing or treatment should not be rejected or wished away, unless one who
 is sick personally decides to believe GOD for direct or DIVINE healing, {Psalm 107:20}
(4)       Those who desire to have direct or DIVINE healing from the LORD should be allowed to exercise their faith,
 as those who opt for indirect or medical healing should equally be allowed the freedom to do so, {vs. 20; Ezek. 47:12}.
MEDICAL HEALING IS NOT ONLY FOR THE FAITHLESS
Medical treatment is not always as a result of one not having faith in GOD, for DIVINE or direct healing from HIM, as believing GOD for DIVINE healing is not always a mark that one is a giant of faith, since GOD, in HIS infinite mercy, can directly heal one, not minding one’s faithlessness, and can, at times, under certain circumstances, allow one with great faith to seek healing help through medication. This is just a matter of the grace of GOD working in one’s life, at a given moment, and not something to boast of one’s faith or a point to discredit one, for lack of faith, as it all depends on the grace one receives at the time of need. By this, therefore, one in need of healing is biblically enjoined to seek DIVINE guidance to ascertain the area GOD is leading one. For, it amounts to fruitless faith-foolishness for one to exercise faith for DIVINE healing when the LORD is driving towards medication, as faithlessness, which is a great sin in the sight of GOD, is in focus, when one pushes towards medical treatment where our LORD GOD desires to heal one directly. In line with the foregoing, please note that;
(i)                    Medical treatment/healing is a provision from GOD, {Ezek. 47:7-12}
(ii)                  It is not a sin to seek medical treatment/healing, {vs. 7-12}
(iii)                 But, it is a sin to seek medical treatment/healing purely from the vantage of unbelief, {Heb. 11;6}
MEDICAL HEALING IS NOT GIVEN TO COMPLEMENT DIVINE HEALING
Medical healing is purely a human process of healing as ordained by GOD, and not complementary to DIVINE healing, which is direct healing from GOD, as enforced by HIS WORD, {Psalm 107:20}. In furtherance, medical healing is a product of GOD’S mercy, whereas DIVINE healing is a product of faith that attracts healing from the LORD our BLESSED GOD and HEALER, without the aid of any form of medication or substance. This once again posits the fact that, it is not sinful to seek medical treatment through doctors or physicians, as it is not proper to say that, GOD is healing one by means of medicine or drugs. For, one is either on the medical process of healing or on the DIVINE process of it, and the two are not complementary, but separate. And so, in medical healing, one relies on the efficacy of drugs or medicine as dispensed by medical practitioners, but in DIVINE healing, one reposes ABSOLUTE confidence in GOD and HIS WORD, {vs. 20}. Therefore, this unit of the lesson is a menu that teaches that;
(i)                    Medical healing is solely the work of medical practitioners, doctors, nurses, herbalists,
 and more, and the use of medicine to heal the sick, {Jer. 8:22; Ezek. 47:12; 2 Chron. 28:15}, as
(ii)                  DIVINE healing is absolutely the healing work of GOD without any human interference,
 {Isa. 58:8; Jer. 33:6; Mal. 4:2}, and so,
(iii)                 The LORD our GREAT GOD and HEALER requires no human input in HIS DIVINE
 or direct healing programme for humanity, {vs. 8; vs. 6; vs. 2; Psalm 107: 20}
MEDICAL HEALING IS A REMEDY TO NATURAL HEALING
Please recall that in part 2 of this series, the Natural Healing is said to be that type of healing obtained through balanced diet, as it further narrates that, human body breaks down when it lacks some level of nutrition, resulting in certain degree of ill-health, which can be remedied through the consumption of foods seasoned with rich nutritional contents, as a way of re-enforcing the anti-body system weakened by lack of nutrition, {Ezek. 47:12}. But, when the cited measures are not fast taken, the affected body totally breaks down in health that may require medical healing, which is the type of healing obtained through medical means, {vs. 12}. So, medical healing brings health remedies when the natural healing system fails. This upholds the biblical truth that:
(i)                    Good food/balanced diet promotes good health, {vs. 12}
(ii)                  There is a breakdown in health when good food/balanced diet is not regular, {vs. 12}
(iii)                 Medical healing/treatment become inevitable when there is a breakdown in health,
as a result of poor feeding, {vs. 12}.
In conclusion, this unit of the lesson is a biblical proof that GOD is the author of medicine, and so, medical treatment should not be wished away or jettisoned by mere wave of unwarranted faith, but should be utilised within its proper context. The lesson, also, confirms the nutritional values of food in the promotion of health in body system, which, as well, should not be treated with levity, as it further serves as an indication that, GOD is concerned about our health, {3 John 2}. PLEASE, BE INFORMED!

THE BIBLE AND HEALING MINISTRY {Part 5}
Healing sicknesses projected through Demonic means
Presented by: Nightengale Ben-Onyeukwu
Devotional Text: Acts. 8:9-13

INTRODUCTION:
             The Holy Scripture which indicates that ... “there was a certain man called Simon, who beforetime in the city used sorcery, and bewitched the people of Samaria...” {Acts 8:9} strongly shows that people could cast spells, resulting in sickness and other forms of problems on the unsuspecting individuals through demonic means. For instance, in his book, Every Wind of Doctrine, Herbert Freeman remarks that, in Voodoo, there are magic rituals designed for the successful performance of practically any  purpose desired, from inflicting injury or death upon an enemy, to bringing good luck in marriage or success in one’s business,” and so, further confirms that certain ailments attack humanity from agents of darkness, as well as stirs the suspicion that certain, “so called” fortunes or healing from certain religious quarters may not be from the LORD GOD of heaven and earth, but products of appeased demons.
GENERAL REMARKS

(1)     Every sickness is not organic problem, {Acts. 8:9]
(2)     Some sicknesses are projected from demonic agents, {vs. 9}
(3)     Only DIVINE healing can combat sicknesses projected from demonic kingdoms, {Psalms 107:20}
(4)     Medical healing cannot take care of ailments projected from hell, {vs. 20}
HOW TO FIND OUT SICKNESS PROJECTED FROM HELL
             Sicknesses projected by the means of demons are known for their deadly bites, since the hearty ambition of Satan is to steal, kill and destroy, John {10:10A}. This informs why they often defile the best natural, cum medical treatment. It is common knowledge today that certain ailments diagnosed and treated in world-class medical establishments became unsuccessful until simple acts of prayer of faith attracted DIVINE healing from the LORD GOD of heaven and earth. Therefore, when a given malady persistently defiles medical and other forms of treatment, the need to look up to the LORD for solution becomes fashionable, as the problem may be demonic, and requires DIVINE intervention. To this end, this lesson posits that sicknesses projected by the means of Satan can only be treated by:
(i)                   Employing the word of faith, {Psalm 107:20}
(ii)                 Simple act of prayer of faith, [James 5:15}
(iii)                Casting out the demons responsible for the sickness, {Mark 16:17}.
THE USEFULNESS OF MEDICAL TREATMENT IN FIGHTING SICKNESS PROJECTED FROM HELL
            Medical treatment cannot be ruled-out in healing a victim of sickness projected from hell, since there could be physical problems like; boils bruises, blisters and more, resulting from the attacks of the projected ailments, which makes the use of medicine useful. In this connection, as the faith healer engages in tackling the spiritual dimension of the problem, a medical practitioner is expected to handle the physical wounds or problems caused by the demonically projected sickness. However, on no account should any fetish means be employed in trying to heal a victim of sickness from an agent of hell, as Satan cannot cast out Satan {Matt. 12:26}, but always in the business of destruction, {John 10:10A}. Strictly speaking, to engage a fetish medicine man in an effort to heal one suffering from projected ailment from demonic kingdom is to provoke GOD to anger, which carries devastating consequences that could lead to the death of the patient one is trying to help, and so, the courage to resist such a temptation is strongly needed. Based on the foregoing, it becomes biblically correct to state that one suffering from sickness projected from demonic world, needs:
(i)                   Faith healer, for prayer of faith {James 5:15}, and demon casting, {Mark 16:17}
(ii)                 Medicine, for the healing of some of the effects of the projected sickness, {2 Chr. 28:15}
(iii)                Doctors or physicians to dispense the medicine required for the healing of physical wounds, {Jer. 8:22}
ONLY DIVINE HEALING IS ADEQUATE FOR THE HEALING OF SICKNESS PROJECTED FROM HELL
Medical treatment could be necessary in tackling some wounds or other medical problems that could arise as a result of attacks from ailments projected from the dark world of demonic kingdom, but should not be taken as alternative treatment for the healing of a patient in the problem, since the core problem is spiritually. And, to miss this point, is to beat about the bush, in any effort which seeks to deliver someone suffering from projected sickness. By way of information, a projected malady is demonically supernatural, and requires SUPERNATURAL treatment, enforced by the WORD of GOD. Thus, the Holy Scripture says, “He sent HIS WORD and healed them, and delivered them from their destructions, {Psalm 107:20}. Therefore, when a given ailment is proven beyond doubt, to be a projection from the pit of hell, then, it becomes the time to:
(i)                   UNDERSTAND that, ... “when the enemy comes in like a flood, the SPIRIT
 of the LORD shall lift up a standard against him,” {Isa. 59:19}
(ii)                 SAY in prayer, “Let GOD  arise, let HIS enemies be scattered; let them
 also that hate HIM flee before HIM,” {Psalm 68:1}
(iii)                DEVOTE, to GOD, in prayer and fasting, for the deliverance of a victim of the demonic attack, {Matt. 17:21}
  In conclusion, this lesson remains a biblical establishment of the truth that some sicknesses are not organic problems, but demonically projected from the covens of the demonic kingdom, as well as carries the emphasis that it takes ONLY the POWER OF GOD to combat such problem when they show up.
