 POWER IN THE BLOOD OF JESUS CHRIST (PART 2)

…THE DELIVERANCE POWER OF THE BLOOD

Devotional Text: Rev. 12:10-11

Introduction:

The Blood of Jesus Christ is the most powerful weapon against Satan and his demons, since it carries in it, the power that dislodges, expels or demolishes any stronghold of the demonic kingdom, no matter the years or centuries of occupation or bondage. The Blood is indeed, the believer’s overcoming and protective instrument which Satan, his agents and demons cannot penetrate or challenge in any spiritual warfare or battle.

GENERAL REMARKS

(1)     The Blood of Jesus Christ is the overcoming power of the believer, (Rev. 12:11);

(2)     The Blood of Jesus Christ is also the only protective cover for the believer, and not religious apron, bangle or any other form of religious ornament, (vs 11).

(3)     The Blood of Jesus Christ is as well, a spiritual substance that is only applicable by faith, and so, cannot be represented or symbolized in any form of physical liquid or fluid, (vs. 11).

(4)     The Blood of Jesus Christ is equally, only applicable by believers in Christ, since they are connected to Him in relationship by the washing of the Blood, and so, the unbelievers or sinners cannot use the Blood for lack of connection and relationship with Christ, (vs 11).

THE BLOOD OF JESUS CHRIST IS GOD’S OVERCOMING POWER FOR THE BELIEVER

The Blood of Jesus Christ is God’s strong and infallible weapon given to the believer, for the overcoming of the forces of darkness. For sure, no demon or Satan himself, can withstand the power of  the Blood of Jesus Christ. For, it stands out against them as the hottest acid of all times, when pleaded. In the words of J.P. Timmons, --- from experience --- there is great power in the Blood, as demons do not like to hear or see the Blood of Jesus Christ …. This is because they know not only its Power, but also the eternal damage inflicted by the Blood on the Dark kingdom. This brings to the fore, the irreparable defeat of Satan and his fallen angels in heaven, which hurled them down to this earth in great anger, by means of the Blood, (Rev. 12:1-12). This same Blood is still available, and its power very effective for the dislodging of Satan and his evil forces. But, to use this power-packed Blood against Satan, the user must have been:

(i)                   connected or joined unto the Lord to become one in spirit, (I Cor. 6:16-17);

(ii)                 sanctified by the Spirit unto obedience through the Blood, (I Peter 1:2)

(iii)                forgiven and redeemed from sin through the Blood, (Eph. 1:7).

THE BLOOD OF JESUS CHRIST IS GOD’S PROTECTIVE COVER FOR THE BELIEVER

The Blood of Jesus Christ is God’s spiritual protective cover for the believer, and of course, there is no physical protective cover approved by God for the believer, and so, any physical form of protective, cover, like Religious Apron, Religious Mantle or clothing, as introduced by some religious leaders remains false application of God’s word. Again, J.P. Timmons indicates that it is a good practice to ask God to cover and protect one during the night with the precious Blood of Jesus, and this, he says, will prevent the enemy from being able to harm one spiritually or physically. But, opines that, this Blood protective cover is in the realm of the spirit, and that one, will not be aware of any changes in the physical realm. In other words, the protection of the Blood of Jesus is experienced and not felt physically. Having cited the above let it be indicated that the Blood of Jesus:

(i)             is a spiritual weapon that can only be applied by faith, (See Heb. 11:1);

(ii)           carries the power that prevents the believer from being hurt by the powers of the devil, (see Luke 10:19);

(iii)          covers the believer (when pleaded/applied against every weapon of the enemy, (see Isa. 54:17)

THE BLOOD OF JESUS CHRIST AVERTS GOD’S JUDGMENT FOR THE BELIEVER

The Blood of Jesus Christ pleads the case of the believer in times of common calamity. The blood of the Passover lamb was sprinkled on the doorposts of Israelites in Egypt to prevent God’s angel of destruction from killing the first born children of Israel alongside those of the Egyptians, (Ex. 12:12-13). In the words of Matthew Henry, God would “Leap over” (in His judgment) those who had evidenced their faith in Him and taken refuge under His Blood. Therefore, in times of common disaster, God secures His people, by setting a mark on them. Biblically speaking, the Blood of Jesus Christ is the saint’s security mark in times of common calamity, since Christ our Passover Lamb is sacrificed for us, (I Cor. 5:7). To this end, this lesson asserts that:

(i)       the Blood of Jesus Christ is God’s Passover mark that averts His judgment for the believer, {vs 7; Ex. 12:13};

(ii)     those marked with the Blood are never hurt when God sends judgment of disaster on the wicked, (Ex. 12:12-13);

(iii)    unbelievers are never protected during the times of judgment of calamity, (vs. 12)

In conclusion, the subject under review shows that the deliverance power of the Blood of Jesus Christ basically empowers the believer to overcome the forces of darkness, and also serves as Divine Cover that protected him from being hurt by the devil. It equally, reveals that the Blood is God’s security mark that prevents the believer from being destroyed in times of problems that come by dint of His judgment. By this, therefore, the believer is enjoined to learn how to appropriate and plead the Blood in times of need. PLEASE, BE INFORMED
